Neighbourhood Board Youth Representative

We want to hear from you

We are looking for an organisation to represent the voices of young people on the Neighbourhood Board and help ensure their views and experiences shape local priorities and decision-making. The successful applicant will host a youth forum to gather views and opinions of young people and subsequently sit on the Neighbourhood Board to represent and feed back the youth voice.

If this is something your organisation would be interested in facilitating, please see the attached document titled Youth Forum Specification to find out the objectives and expectations of the role.

If you would like to submit an application form please complete the survey below.

Pride in Place is a 10‑year programme designed to help improve neighbourhoods. The idea is simple: local people get a real say in what happens in their area.

The programme aims to:

  • Make communities feel stronger and more connected
  • Improve local streets, spaces and facilities
  • Give residents more influence over decisions that affect them

A new Neighbourhood Board – made up of local residents, businesses, and community organisations – will help decide how the funding is used. They’ll be supported by the council and the local MP.

The funding is managed by the council and overseen nationally by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

  • The Percy Main Youth Forum will exist to ensure that young people can influence services, activities and decisions that affect them in Percy Main and the wider community. The forum provides a safe, inclusive space for young people to share views, develop skills and lead positive change. The forum will feed into the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board via the youth representative from your organisation.

We want to hear from organisations that are interested in facilitating this forum and being the voice of young people on the Neighbourhood Board.

Please read the attached document titled Youth Forum Specification before applying.

You can partner with another organisation to deliver this project.
Please complete the application form if you would like to facilitate the forum.
