Housing and Property Services Kitchens Consultation

We fit around 650 new kitchens per year to council homes as part of our planned investment programme.

The contract with our current supplier is coming to an end and, before we enter into a new contract, we would like the views of tenants on our future offer.

We currently offer 4 choices for worktops, 5 choices for doors, 3 taps and 2 sinks. Plus multiple options for wall colours, tiles and flooring. This means that our stores must hold stock of each item and our repairs vans must carry the correct fittings for all of them.

Based on what tenants have previously chosen for their new kitchens, we know that some choices are more popular than others. Reducing the choices offered will save space, time and money, which we can in turn invest in other parts of our services for tenants.

Before any decisions are taken, we want tenants to have their say. Please share your views via the survey below, by Sunday 3 August 2025.

You can also share your views at one of our July drop-in sessions and information can be found at the Have Your Say display areas in our six Community Hubs and Libraries too.

We will then hold a focus group with tenants on Thursday 14 August to review the results. If you're interested in taking part, please complete this registration form and we'll get back to you.

If you haven't already done so, please register on this website (top right of your screen) so we can keep in touch and let you know when there are other opportunities to have your say in future.
