21 May 2026: Have your say on the safety of women and girls in our region
Have your say on safer travel across the North East
The North East Combined Authority wants to understand what would make a real difference to helping women and girls feel safe when travelling. Your feedback will shape future action and improvements.
Take the survey: North East Mayors’ Women and Girls’ Safety Survey
Mayor Meets: Let’s talk transport
Join Mayor Kim McGuinness for a local conversation about transport and safety for women and girls. The session will focus on everyday travel — including buses, Metro and rail — and how services can be safer, more reliable and better connected for work, education and caring responsibilities.
You’ll also hear about plans for bus reform through the Angel Network and share what would make the biggest difference, from travelling after dark to waiting at stops.
