Here’s your latest round‑up of what’s been happening across the borough in our "You Said, We Did" updates — the improvements we’ve made based on your feedback. As well as the ways you can help shape what comes next by taking in part in our consultations.

We’ve listened to what matters to you and taken action. Here are some of the changes you’ll see:

You said: improve community safety and reduce anti-social behaviour

We did: North Tyneside Council has invested in new AI‑powered CCTV that has been installed in key locations across the borough. This new technology will provide faster and smarter ways of identifying and responding to issues. Click here to read more.

You said: keep Monkseaton Middle School open

We did: Monkseaton Middle School has now secured its long‑term future. This gives families certainty and helps the school continue delivering high‑quality education.

You said: the council plan needs to be accessible for those who use British Sign Language

We did: We’ve produced a British Sign Language version of the Council Plan so more residents can access the information in a way that works for them. You can watch it online by clicking the link.

Pride in Place

Understanding Awareness of Stop Smoking Support

North Tyneside Council is looking to understand why some people who smoke have not contacted the Stop Smoking Service.

This short survey will help us understand awareness of the service, how people prefer to access support, and what might make it easier for people to get help in the future.

Design Code

We’re developing a Design Code to guide how new buildings and public spaces should look and feel. Share your thoughts on what good design means for our communities. We welcome comments from residents, businesses, community groups and other stakeholders on the draft Design Codes.
