We offer a range of informal ways for tenants to get involved and have their say, for example:
Estate walkabouts: Our neighbourhood housing officers carry out regular walkabouts. These are an opportunity for you to ask questions, report any issues and get involved in helping to improve your estate. View the current programme here
Focus groups: These are small groups which meet once or twice to look at a specific topic, for example to review the Tenancy Agreement or Repairs Policy.
Document reviews: Tenants are sent a draft document and asked for their comments before it is published, for example to check for 'plain English' or make suggestions to improve the content. This could be a policy, a report or newsletter.
Tenant events: These are larger scale events where tenants can meet the Housing and Property Service team and take part in discussion. For example, our annual tenants' event.
Surveys: Throughout the year we may require input from tenants with surveys. For example, in 2024 a survey was carried out on a review of our Lettings Policy.
Previous subjects which tenants have given their views on have included:
Housing repairs
Customer service
Service improvements
Estate services
Anti-social behaviour
North Tyneside Living
Rent and financial issues
