This Draft neighbourhood and community promise explains how we look after the areas we’re responsible for. We work together with residents, our tenants, partners, and other organisations to help make our neighbourhoods clean, green, safe, and great places to live. This also helps prevent anti-social behaviour, nuisance problems, and crime. By working with local people and groups, we aim to build healthier, fairer neighbourhoods with a better quality of life.

The draft Promise has been developed by our Housing and Property Service with the help of feedback from tenants on our Estates and Communities Panel, the Big Community Conversation survey 2025, Tenant Satisfaction Measures survey 2024, the tenants’ annual event and the tenant drop-in events.

We would like to gather your views on the draft promise. Having read the document, please take a couple of minutes to complete the short survey below. All responses to this anonymous questionnaire will be dealt with in accordance with the council's privacy notice which can be found here: Privacy Statement

If you have any queries or need us to do anything differently to help you complete this questionnaire, including providing this information in another language or format, please email engagement@northtyneside.gov.uk

The closing date for the survey is Sunday 18th January 2026
