This consultation sets out the Authority’s approach to investigating and managing anti-social behaviour and environment-related enforcement.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) and environmental crime, such as flytipping, litter, dog fouling and graffiti, impacts residents and our communities. It affects their quality of life and contributes to perceptions and fear of crime.

The draft policy has been developed by our Housing and Property Service with the help of feedback from tenants on our Estates and Communities Panel, the Big Community Conversation survey 2025, Tenant Satisfaction Measures survey 2024, the tenants’ annual event and the tenant drop-in events.

The draft Environmental Crime and Anti-social Behaviour Policy highlights North Tyneside Council’s responsibility to maintain a clean and safe environment for all, while recognising that this cannot be achieved without the support of the local community and the need for people to take personal responsibility for their actions.
