Help shape the future of SEND Provision in North Tyneside
We want to hear your views on proposals to increase places and enhance provision for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the borough.
The council is committed to giving every child the best possible start in life. As part of this ambition, we have worked with school leaders and governors to expand and improve the support available in our schools this academic year.
This includes creating new Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARPs) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) units, updating existing ones, and exploring more inclusive ways to meet children’s needs in mainstream settings.
The proposals put forward by school leaders and governors are:
· Establish a new, 12 place Additional Resourced Provision at Percy Main Primary School
· Establish a new, 12 place Special Education Needs Unit at Waterville Primary School
· Close the existing 5 place Additional Resourced Provision at Whitley Lodge First School
· Expand the age range at Silverdale Special School to support children aged 4 to 16 years.
We want to hear your views. Please take a few minutes to complete our short questionnaire by Sunday 5 October.
Your input is valuable and will help shape the future of SEND provision in your community.
