Budget engagement survey 2025/ 26

Like the vast majority of local authorities and other public services across the country, there are increasing pressures on North Tyneside Council's funding, and we have to make significant savings in this budget and in the coming years to achieve a more balanced position.

This is a problem felt across the country and is not unique to North Tyneside. Government funding in the last 14 years has not been increasing at the same rate as demand and costs have been rising, and so the shortfall or gap is growing. We would therefore welcome your views on our proposals for achieving a balanced budget in 2025/26.

All responses to this anonymous questionnaire will be dealt with in accordance with our privacy statement.

If you need us to do anything differently to help you take part in this survey, including providing this information in another language or format, please contact Engagement Team via engagement@northtyneside.gov.uk or on 0191 643 2828.

Please submit your responses by Sunday 12 January 2025.

Saving money through our transformation projects

During 2024/25 we’ve already made over £10m of efficiencies. To help to address the funding gap we face in 2025/26 we are continuing to deliver 14 transformation projects that are changing the way the Council works to make an extra £11m of efficiencies.

These projects focus on areas of high spend or concern where savings, investment or efficiencies can be made. You can find out more here How we are changing our services to save money'
