Vulnerabilities and Reasonable Adjustment consultation feedback

This consultation has closed. To receive information about forthcoming consultations, please register on Our North Tyneside Voice

Date of consultation: 4 July – 3 August 2025

Number of responses: 12

The policy seeks to support vulnerable tenants and household members living in North Tyneside Council homes, and North Tyneside residents, to address the challenges they may face in:

  • sustaining their tenancy
  • improving the quality of their homes
  • accessing and benefiting from our services

It sets out how we define vulnerability, identify those who are vulnerable and take action to support them. It also defines what a ‘reasonable adjustment’ is, the circumstances they will be made and how they can be requested.

Thanks to feedback from those who completed the survey, we have included a section in the policy explaining what training officers undertake to ensure they can recognise and respond to vulnerabilities and reasonable adjustment requests, and have included a section on how implementation of the policy will be monitored. An ‘easy read’ version of the policy will be produced.

Thank you to everyone who responded to the consultation. The full consultation report is attached to this page and you can view the final Vulnerabilities and Reasonable Adjustment Policy on the North Tyneside Council website: Vulnerabilities and Reasonable Adjustment Policy

If you would like a paper copy of either of these documents, please email engagement@northtyneside.gov.uk or call 0191 643 2828.
