The dangers of smoking, vaping and drinking alcohol
Consultation has concluded
Coby Black was North Tyneside's Young Mayor from March 2024 - 2025. His focus was to raise awareness around the dangers of smoking, vaping, drinking alcohol and using illegal drugs.
It began with Coby meeting with numerous professionals across the borough who specialised in working with adults and young people who struggled with smoking and drinking alcohol, as well as meeting with public health and youth organisations. With the support of North Tyneside's Youth Council, a survey was created for young people to understand their views around why some young people smoke, vape, drink alcohol and use drugs. This was to ensure the correct messages were being shared.
Coby worked closely with public health to ensure accurate information was being given to young people across the borough and was keen to show this in the form of a video. Please see below the video which was created in collaboration with public health, the communications team and North Tyneside's Youth Council!
