Housing and Property Services Draft Aids and Adaptations Policy

Consultation has concluded

Date of Consultation:  27 June to 3 August 2025
Number of responses:
 10 completed survey

Summary: A big thank you to everyone who took part. The results are now being considered and we will feed back on You Said We Did Hub when we have the results.

During June-July we carried out some consultation on a draft policy to help council tenants and permanent members of their household to remain safe and independent in their home for as long as possible. It set out how requests for aids and adaptations will be responded to and managed by the Housing and Property Services in order to help tenants and household members to:

  • live independently in their home with privacy and dignity
  • live independently and comfortably in their home for as long as possible or, if this is not possible or practical, to get help to find a suitable alternative property
  • know about all of the options open to them when using our aids and adaptations service.

We wanted to know if the draft policy is easy to understand or if there was anything missing from it.

The survey closed on 3 August 2025 and the team will now use your feedback to finalise the policy. We will publish an update on this website.
