Residents ask us to repair and reuse

Preloved Bike Sale at the White Swan Centre

35 bikes found new homes and £735 was raised, which will be reinvested into the project. A total of 150 bikes have been salvaged so far, with over 100 refurbished and returned to the community.

The feedback from residents was genuinely heartwarming. One parent was able to buy a bike for £15 after being unable to afford repairs, and a grandmother bought two bikes so her grandchildren could cycle to school after completing Bikeability. These small interventions make a big difference to families.

Thank you to colleagues in Health and Wellbeing, Sport and Leisure, and Environmental Sustainability for all their work on this.
