Proposal to merge Forest Hall Primary School and Ivy Road Primary School

This is your opportunity to submit your feedback on the proposal to merge Ivy Road Primary School and Forest Hall Primary School from September 2026.

This statutory consultation follows a six-week pre-publication consultation where the public and organisations were invited to submit viable alternative options.

Analysis and consideration of the 49 responses took place weekly, and all were reviewed following the consultation closing. In line with the Department for Educations guidelines for consulting on the closure of a school, the Council has now entered a formal representation period.

As part of this, you can share your views on the proposal to merge the schools.

The feedback received over the next month will be considered by North Tyneside Council’s Cabinet at a meeting on 12 January 2026 to make the final decision.
