A Reader’s Panel is a group of volunteers who can help to review written materials - such as information leaflets, reports, or website content—to make sure they are accurate, easy to understand, and clearly presented.
Your Role
As a panel member we’d welcome your opinion on some written information we produce before it’s published”?
You can help us check:
That we are saying things in the right way
That we using right words to get our message across clearly?
That we are including everything we need to and nothing that is not relevant
All members are encouraged to give honest feedback. You can comment on anything you think works well or could be improved. The groups input will help us improve the way we communicate and engage with residents.
What to Look For
When reviewing a document, please consider:
Clarity and wording: Is the information easy to understand? Are there any spelling, grammar, or typing mistakes?
Presentation and layout: Is the information well-organised? Does it make sense? Is the message clear and easy to follow?
Completeness: Does it answer all the questions you might have? Is anything missing or unclear?
How It Works
You will receive the documents by email.
We ask that you try to read and comment on them within two weeks of receiving them.
However, you are under no obligation to respond every time. If you're busy, away, unwell, or simply don’t feel like it—that’s perfectly fine. You decide whether to take part.
How to Send Your Feedback
Please give your feedback by completing the feedback form in the link below.
What Happens Next
After receiving your comments:
We will collate all the feedback we receive and then review the document with its author, making any relevant changes.
We’ll also send you a copy so you can see how your input helped improve the final version.
Once the final version is approved, the leaflet or document is sent out to residents.
