  • Friday 11 July: Schools of Sanctuary Celebration

    CLOSED: This event has passed.

    Come and help us celebrate the amazing work going on in our schools around welcome, seeking sanctuary and refugees. Schools will display the work they've done this year to raise awareness of the issues around asylum seeking and to make their schools more welcome. Successful schools will also receive their Schools of Sanctuary Awards.

  • Sunday 31 August: Whitley Bay Islamic Cultural Centre Family Fun Day

    WBICC's annual Family Fun Day is back, with food, bouncy castles, henna stalls and lots more. You can find more information here.

  • Monday 1 September onwards: Asylum: A Long and Painful Journey exhibition

    Come to North Shields Community Hub to see a photo exhibition showcasing real experiences of refugees and asylum seekers, with pictures taken by an asylum seeker. This exhibition was first shown at the Baltic Gateshead.

    Every day, North Shields Community Hub, 1 September to 28 September.

  • Saturday 13 September: North Tyneside Together Festival

    Join us at Northumberland Square on 13 September to celebrate cultures and diversity with performances, stalls and activities for the whole family!
