Next Steps

Who are they?

The Next Steps group are cared experienced 18-25 year olds, who work towards ensuring their voices are heard across the borough, when it comes to key issues for children in care. They give their views and opinions on different projects from a cared experience perspective.

What do they do?

The group have recently supported a next steps fund, for young people aged 14+ who are looking to try something new, build friendships and improve their mental health. They review applications sent in to ensure young people applying have done their own research into their application and are able to have an opportunity to try a new activity that they may not have had the chance to do before.

How do I get involved?

If you are a care experienced young person aged 18-25 and would like to be involved, please email kerry.willshire@northtyneside.gov.uk
