Killingworth Links is a strategic connectivity scheme designed to improve links between Killingworth Town Centre and the wider Waggonway. It forms part of North Tyneside Council's ambitious plans for the north west of the borough, helping to create attractive places to live, new opportunities for businesses and employment, and welcoming spaces to enjoy.

The proposals are:
A segregated cycle and walking provision on Southgate, Northgate, West Bailey.
New controlled crossings on Southgate.
Raised tables at sideroad junctions.
The proposals aim to improve:
The overall quality and functionality of the town centre environment.
Links to the wider Waggonway Network.
Access to walking and wheeling facilities.
Access to Killingworth Shopping centre.
The creation of stronger connections between residential neighbourhoods, education, leisureand commercial destinations.
Funding currently allocated through the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) would enable delivery of a significant proportion of the scheme. While this funding is not sufficient to construct the full extent of the proposed route, North Tyneside Council will continue to seek additional funding opportunities to deliver the remaining sections in the future.
