In January we were out and about with drop-in sessions for tenants to pop in for a chat and get advice on housing matters, visiting The Meadows in North Shields, The Oxford Centre in Longbenton and Howdon Family Hub.
Staff from our repairs, lettings, neighbourhoods, tenancy support, engagement and waste and recycling teams were on hand for advice and to answer questions.
In total, 41 tenants came to speak to us and feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 100% of tenants stating their questions were answered.
Cllr John Harrison, cabinet member for Housing, said: “As a Council, we pride ourselves on listening to our residents and shaping the services we provide around their needs and what they tell us they want to see. Our tenants have told us they want us to be visible in their communities, get out and about, and use different venues. That’s something we committed to doing with these events.”
