Paying your rent
If you are a Council tenant and you are having difficulty paying your rent, we can provide support and guidance, or direct you to services that could help.

Tenancy and Financial Support Service
This support service is available to council tenants who may be struggling and need a bit of a helping hand. Whether that's help with benefits or if you're struggling to pay your energy bills our team will do everything to help or signpost you to appropriate support.
Council Tax
If you think you might not be able to pay your bill, we can look at ways of supporting you, check whether you are entitled to a discount or arrange a payment plan.

Council Tax Support
This is a local discount you can claim if you are on a low income to reduce the amount you pay (depending on your income and household size).

Discretionary Housing Payments
You may qualify if your Housing Benefit or Universal Credit includes housing costs, but doesn’t cover your full rent payments, or if you need help finding affordable accommodation.

Crisis Support
Our Welfare Assistance team can provide advice and support for those who are experiencing exceptional hardship or crisis. If you need immediate help with food or utilities.
