Have your say - handling anti-social behaviour

We agree with you that having safe, secure neighbourhoods is a top priority and want to make sure that the way we handle anti-social behaviour feels right for you. With that in mind, we would like to invite you to take part in a focus group and share your views with us.

North Tyneside is one of the safest boroughs in the country. Our Community Protection team works together with Northumbria Police and other partners to reduce housing-related anti-social behaviour and environmental crime.

Consultation with our tenants, leaseholders and residents on a range of neighbourhood and environmental matters has directly influenced our new Environmental Crime and Anti-social Behaviour Policy, and our new Neighbourhood and Community Promise.

We are offering a choice of focus group sessions to share information with you and listen to what you have to say. Two sessions are for council tenants and council leaseholders which will focus on housing-related anti-social behaviour and how we handle that; and one session is open to all residents which will focus on our approach to anti-social behaviour in open spaces (including work at the coast, on our estates and enforcement of Public Space Protection Orders).

Each session will include an opportunity for you to give your views on some specific points, and ask questions of the council or police. You can choose one of the following sessions:


Wednesday 9 September, 10.30am-12.30pm:
The Oxford Centre, Longbenton (for council tenants and council leaseholders)

Saturday 12 September, 10.30am-12.30pm:
North Shields Library (for council tenants and council leaseholders)

Saturday 24 October, 10.30am-12.30pm:
Whitley Bay Library (for all residents) UPDATE 3/9/26: THIS SESSION IS CURRENTLY FULL, HOWEVER IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING, PLEASE STILL SIGN UP AND WE WILL CONTACT YOU NEARER THE TIME TO CONFIRM IF A SPACE IS AVAILABLE
