Explaining the Local Plan
Preparation of a new Local Plan is an opportunity for residents, local business and wider stakeholders to have your say on the future growth and development of North Tyneside.
Local Plans must follow the legal requirements and national policies set out by government. They must also be informed by the right evidence and have regard to the wider priorities of North Tyneside Council, the ambitions of the North East Combined Authority and address cross boundary issues with neighbouring Local Authorities.

Evidence base
The Local Plan must be based on proportionate and robust evidence, across each of the issues its seeks to address.
