As part of last summer’s Big Community Conversation, members of the Deaf community told us that important council information is not always accessible, as not everyone can easily read written English. They asked for key updates and plans to be made available in British Sign Language (BSL).
In response to this feedback, we have made the new Our North Tyneside Plan 2025–2029 available in BSL. The plan has been shaped by what residents told us during the Big Community Conversation and sets out a shared vision for an even better North Tyneside over the next four years. Providing this information in BSL is one way we are making sure more people can access, understand and engage with decisions that affect their lives.
