Children in Care Council

The Children in Care Council (CiCC) is made up of children and young people who are all experienced and looked after by North Tyneside Council.

The group meets regularly to get involved in various projects to make important changes to the lives of children and young people who are care experienced. It is also an opportunity to make friends.

The focus of the group is to allow children young people to influence policies, strategies and decisions that affect cared for young people. The views of the group are shared on a regular basis with Children's Services and Elected Members across North Tyneside Council.

Currently, we have groups for children aged 10 and above, as well as for care leavers who are involved with the Regional Children in Care Council. This ensures that all care-experienced young people have a space to voice their opinions and make a difference.

If you are working with a young person who would like to get involved, please ChildreninCareCouncil@northtyneside.gov.uk
