What is the Children and Young People's Engagement Strategy?
North Tyneside is committed to making sure every child and young person feels heard, valued and able to shape the place they live. Our Children and Young People Engagement Strategy sets out how we listen to young residents, involve them in decisions that affect their lives, and work alongside them as equal partners in designing better services and stronger communities.
Grounded in national standards and built on what young people tell us matters, the strategy expands opportunities for meaningful participation — from youth democracy and care‑experienced forums to creative projects, school sessions and digital engagement. It strengthens our promise to include under‑represented voices, provide safe and accessible ways to get involved, and show clearly how young people’s ideas lead to real change.
Young people are experts in their own experiences. Their insight helps shape a borough where every child and young person can thrive. This strategy makes sure their voices stay at the heart of North Tyneside’s future.
