Strong community spirit
Green spaces and parks
Accessible transport and local shops
What people want to improve:
Clean, well-maintained neighbourhoods
Safe streets and more visible policing
Better roads and pavements
More activities for children and young people
Improved facilities in parks and open spaces
How Your Voice Is Making a Difference
The findings are directly informing the new Council Plan for 2025–2029.
Partners (NHS, Police, Schools, Voluntary Sector) are working together on shared priorities—cleaner streets, safer communities, better youth provision, and improved health and wellbeing.
Targeted improvements are planned for accessibility, anti-social behaviour, and support for families and older people.
What Happens Next
The Council and partners are committed to acting on your feedback.
Progress will be monitored and reported back to the community.
There will be ongoing opportunities for you to get involved and help shape future plans.
Part of the conversation was a change for you to ask questions to the council and our partnerslike the police, education, fire service, health services and the voluntary sector.
You really got involved, and we received 601 questions in total! We’ve taken the time to go through them all and created frequently asked questions for you. We have also sent individual comments and questions to the appropriate contact to consider in their planning.
You can find the questions and their responses below by following the blue links. We have grouped the questions by each service to make it easy to find the answers you are looking for.
