North Tyneside Engagement Team win community award
Thanks to the support and input of North Tyneside residents the North Tyneside Engagement Team has been awarded the Granicus Community Engagement Award 2026.
This award recognises the use of innovative tools to expand community engagement and remove barriers to participation, finding creative ways to encourage community involvement, inform and engage under-represented groups, and/or turn community input into useful insights, better decision making, and measurable impact.
Representation has grown dramatically — at the time of applying for the award - from 153 registered members to 2,506, with judges highlighting strong involvement from all 20 wards, as well as engagement with a diverse range of residents. At the time of sending this newsletter we now have over 4,500 members registered to Our North Tyneside Voice but we would love to see even more! Please share the site with your friends and family members and encourage them to sign up, so that even more residents will have a chance to have their say and shape our services.
We hope to continue this positive growth and build on the goals set out in our Resident Engagment Stratergy, and maintain our commitment to providing oppurtunities to all to influence the decisions that affect their lives.
