This policy covers the service offer and approach available to our tenants, and other permanent members of their household, to enable them to remain safe and independent in their home.
Key objectives of this policy are to enable tenants and permanent household members to:
live independently in their home with privacy and dignity
continue to live independently and comfortably in their home for as long as possible or, if this is not possible or practical, to provide advice about finding a suitable alternative property
be aware of all the options open to them when accessing the aids and adaptions service
and to ensure that we:
make best use of our existing housing stock
deliver a cost effective and accessible aids and adaptations service.
As a result of feedback from the survey, the draft policy was updated to add a statement regarding external work.
Thank you to everyone who responded to the consultation. The full consultation report is attached to this page and you can view the final Aids and Adaptations Policy on the North Tyneside Council website: Aids and Adaptations Policy | North Tyneside Council
